The Mission of the Oakland Reds Baseball Club is to provide young ballplayers with one of the Top Player Development programs in the country. Our professional staff work hard to provide first-class training and instill the mental toughness, knowledge and desire to achieve success on and off the playing field. Every Reds player will compete against the highest level of competition available and develop the valuable skills required to excel in high school, college, and as a professional.

It's our goal to keep the dream alive in all that represent the Red & Black uniform.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds 18U Drew Miller on his recent commitment to the Defiance College Baseball Team. Miller will be part of the Freshman class that will hit the field in the spring of 2014.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds 18U Gunnar Gail on his recent commitment to the Tiffin University Baseball Team. Gail will be part of the Freshman class that will hit the field in the spring of 2014.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds 18U Brady Schafer on his recent commitment to the Tiffin University Baseball Team. Schafer will be part of the Freshman class that will hit the field in the spring of 2014.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds 18U Austin Wilson on his recent commitment to the Siena Heights University Baseball Team. Wilson will be part of the Freshman class that will hit the field in the spring of 2014.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds 18U Mario Ferrini for his recent commitment to the Kalamazoo College Baseball Team. Ferrini will be part of the Freshman class that will hit the field in the spring of 2014.

* Congratulations to Rick Berryman (Head Baseball Coach - Livonia Stevenson / Honorary Board Member) for being a 2012 Michigan High School Hall of Fame Inductee.

* The Oakland Reds would like to welcome Ben Myers to the Oakland Reds 2013 Coaching Staff. Coach Myers comes with great baseball experience and will be the 16U Head Coach.

* The Oakland Reds would like to welcome Burny Mitchem to the Training Staff, as an additional Pitching Instructor. Coach Mitchem will join our staff as a pitching instructor, along with Andy Tinkey, and is available for Pitching Lessons.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds 18U Brett Davis for his recent commitment to the Aurora University Baseball Team. Davis will be part of the Freshman class that will hit the field in the spring of 2014. Brett was also accepted into the Pre-Med Program.

* The Oakland Reds kick-off activities with Pre-Season Strength & Conditioning that will run thru November and December. Coach Smith does an unbelievable job getting our players ready, both physically & mentally, for the intense baseball training to come. If you aren’t attending this Pre-Season Training, you should be! There is no additional costs to our players for this Pre-Season Training. A great turnout ,with 35-40 players attending in each of the two sessions so far. Once the baseball training begins in January, additional Strength & Conditioning will be offered at a nominal cost to each player attending. The current Pre-Season Strength & Conditioning schedule : 8U-13U Players - Tues, Wed, Thurs (5:45pm - 7:00pm) / 14U-18U Players - Tues, Wed, Thurs (7:15pm - 8:30pm) Contact Coach Smith if you have any questions.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds 18U Carsten Dembeck for his recent commitment to the Ashland University Baseball Team. Dembeck will be part of the Freshman class that will hit the field in the spring of 2014.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds Nick Marcon for being invited to play on the USA Baseball - 14U USA Stars at the upcoming 2012 National Team Identification Series. The event will take place in Cary, NC this September. As part of the NTIS, Nick will be evaluated for next years 15U National Team. This is a great opportunity for one of our own. We wish him well.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds Brett Davis for being selected to the Winter National Team - Team Maxbat. Brett will be part of 16U Gold Team . Brett will attend a week long camp at the Spring Training home of the Tampa Bay Rays, play in three tournaments. Tournaments will take place at Notre Dame, Scottsdale - Arizona and in Vero Beach at Dodger Town. Great exposure and experience for one of our own. We wish him well.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds 18U Tyler Geiger for his commitment to the Saginaw Valley State University Baseball Team. Geiger will be part of the Freshman class that will hit the field in the spring of 2013.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds 18U Dalton Cozart for his commitment to the Coppin State University Baseball Team. Cozart will be part of the Freshman class that will hit the field in the spring of 2013.

* Our own Nick Belmonte from Indy Pro Showcase and ESPN was the Analyst for the USSSA 14u World Series Disney tournament this weekend in Florida on ESPN3.

* Congratulations to Oakland Reds 18U Bobby Tikkanen for signing a letter of intent with the Hillsdale College Chargers Baseball Team. Tikkanen will be part of the Freshman class that will hit the field in the spring of 2013.
